Absolutely brilliant teacher, will bring the best out of you if you are willing to learn German. Disciplined and there is no messing about. Was thoroughly disappointed that she wasn't taking A-level German the year I was doing it, that other German teacher was dreadful and i had to change to a subject i wasn't as good in... i'll come to her in a minute!! Mrs MacKay was an exceptionally good. Worked for me!
great teacher!! and well derserved promotion in 1989 (i think that was the year...may be out 1 or 2)....i only did gcse, no german a-level and went on to complete chemistry and german degree...great motivation from Frau Mackay and great discussions on the fall of the Berlin wall
If you work for Mrs Mackay you will have no problems with her. Her lessons may seem painstakingly slow but I found that I'd been taught much more than I realised. She is also the only teacher I've ever had who has spoken with each of her pupils to ensure they are coping with the workload. She is actually a really lovely woman and it will be a big loss when she retires next year.
Can be a bit scary but if you put the work in she is a pretty good teacher and good craic too if you stay on her good side.
now, i dont know about everyone else, but when u spend a double period of german trying to discern the difference between chocolate bars and bars of chocolate i think its time to go get ur german teacher sped, as for her lateness, im telling u its a blessing, in that time u can actually do some german learning, as opposed to what you actually learn when she's there, so sorry big V, its one, one, one rating for ye!
There's something wrong when you begin to voluntarily explain the difference between vertical and horizontal to a fifth year class, even after a demonstration!!!!
i think shes lovely, never taught me, but shes always very helpful to me
I know it's only a careers class but it would be nice if she turned up more often. By the time she gave us the forms we had about a week to choose GCSEs.
