A brilliant, unconventional and acerbic man who ignited my love for Keats, Coleridge and critical theory. I’m an academic in my thirties now and I still think of him as one of my greatest intellectual influences. They don’t make ‘em like DQ anymore!

In his own field. Original and brilliant. No day was boring, no lesson was useless and no teacher has stuck to their morals better.

Brilliant teacher but absolutely terrifying. Used to patrol the english corridor and people would run. Brilliant in class though, sad he left.

Absolute legend of a teacher. Inspirational and loves an under dog. The only teacher i have ever known to have commanded respect of every pupil he has ever taught. The school should never let him go.
