I was put in a lower group for maths and I feel as though we were given up on. Mr Bevis spent most of the time telling off the kids who didn't work and the rest of us didn't get that much attention. I have always struggled with maths and I didn't feel like I got enough support. He a was a really nice guy though and I didn't dread maths like I did with other teachers, but I don't think I did as well as I could have if we had a bit more attention.
Legend of a teacher =) only had him for one year in year 9 but left very helpful advice that stayed with me through GCSE's! and always pronounce scissors as 'skissors' now ever since! lol! =)
We had a number of tutors, and we were a tearaway group. When we finally got Mr Bevis, he transformed us over three years from scraggly kids, into emerging young adults. He was a good role model.
He is the best and he is the best tutor we'v had, considering we'v had 3!!
