I stumbled across this site and felt compelled to leave one comment for one teacher in particular. Mrs Salkeld is the teacher I will always remember fondly from life at DHSG in the 90s. She encouraged my love of English, kept me motivated and made school a vibrant and inspiring place for me. I went on to study English at uni and have had (and still have!) a really good international career in communications - thanks in no small part to a lady who helped me fall in love with words! Thanks Mrs S.
Mrs Salkeld was my English teacher about 25 years ago (ahh the late 80s!!) - I can't believe she's still there. She loved my elder sister but wasn't so keen on me... She was an excellent English teacher though, knows her subjects very well. Used to love Halloween when we would all tell scary stories. I wonder if she remembers the fake rat experience - that made her jump on the desk!!
loved mrs salkeld! really good teacher, she definitely knew what she was talking about. had her as a form tutor and every single year for english til yr13. inspiration for me to do english at uni :)
She's a llegend! Knows sooooo much about english. Wicked sense of humor too. Love her!!
She either like you hated you. Not very professional with certain aspects of her behaviour. She was fun and could be caring. Probably should have moved onto another school years ago... but it's DHSG.
Brilliant! She's read everything & she she doesn't stand for any feeble excuses.
Mrs Salkeld did actually either love or hate you. Luckily, I got on with her. My favourite teacher at DHSG. Absolute diamond x
Absolutely loved Mrs Salkeld - gave me lots and lots of inspiration!
hilarious, never really had her properly, but shes doing a great job rebelling against Ms Hill!
Can be fabulous! But not so good she appens to have a grudge for you - inevitably happens to one or two unlucky students
Mrs Salkeld is really cool, used to be our form tutor in year 7&8- nice person, knows how to make us laugh.
