very sad he left and that he was in bad health, he was such a nice guy
Very informative, good sense of humour. Fair discipline.
brilliant man and very very funny esp. the squeaky hands that i find myself now doing
i dont lyk him he dosnt care about ur work he just cant teach
Rodney never liked me and had a chip on his shoulder about money, but he is one of the best teachers I had, inspired me in both history and ancient history (alongside Carol Hewitt, another teacher with passion for classics) and I still remember what he taught me 18 years later. Cheers Rodney
legend! really funny. made history seem good (well, kind of)
Brilliant teacher. I used to nip down High Street to get him a mandarin orange and a Chelsea bun for break. He used to let his runners keep the change, but not me as he felt I had enough money! Really encouraged me in 6th Form and has inspired me in my own teaching. Top Bloke.
Possibly the funniest person that has ever lived. He is a comic genius Long live rodders!!!!!!!!!
a personnal friend of mine, i nu him b4 i came 2 skool
Its good to see Rodders back. He's a bit of a legend and is in charge of the best department in the school. A very funny guy, but also a very clever guy. Produces serious gas though - those who he teaches will know what i mean!
Great guy, quality jokes and good sence of style - Legend (also good teacher)
brill. very funny. wish he didn't get sick cos we got covered by miss crothers from easter til the end of term. that was terrible! bummer sez he's coming back to BGS after half-term. Any of u got his replacement, mr scullion? hes not too bad, but nowhere near as good as rodney
Very interesting man. Getting to leave class 10 mins early if you could recite 10 footballers with surnames beginning with the letter Z was priceless. very much a footballer passionately argrued its superior skill over rugby which was much loved in my day.
Fabulous man. Brought history lessons to life with magnificent recreations of famous events. Once turned his classroom into a working Roman salt mine at great personal expense to himself but was tremendously engaging for the pupils. His ability to recite the entire script of 'Spartacus' from memory has inspired many pupils to continue their studies. Outside history lessons his skills on the football field are divine, he has the speed of a 15 year old and skills that would rival Paulo Maldini.
If one of the teachers had to do stand up it would have to be jonesy and political correctness can take a hike as well
Even with the diversions of Burnt Teeth & the Book of Lists Jonesy still managed to get the best out of me. I try to emulate him in my own classroom.
Great teacher - I just couldn't be bothered with A Level history in the end!
