Easy going, fairly old-school. Excellent at explaining, and generally pretty friendly.
"Are you positive about that?" Richard was a brilliant mathematician but his teaching disregarded those who struggled to keep up, otherwise he was great. Prone to awful math puns!
One of the best teachers I ever had at the school. All you have to do is do the homework and not talk through lessons and you automatically get A* at GCSE and A at A level. I'm genuinely sad to see him leaving at the end of this year, he's been a great influence at the school. He's been there 39 years apparently.
i don't understand why he isn't 5 5 5 all the way through. i can maybe understand him picking on you a little bit if you aren't one of the super-mathematicians he's used to, but if you are he pitches his classes at exactly the right level and gets the right balance between teaching you exactly what will be in the exam and stretching you. getting mr owen for a level maths is like being handed an A grade on a silver plate... he's awesome. and his maths jokes are inspirational
i actually fell asleep in one of his lessons. he has the worlds most boring voice.
He speaks in a monotone and picks on a few people. Other than that, he's probably the best in the department in terms of Maths. Decent at badminton too.
Mr Owen frustrated me intensely whilst covering for another teacher's maths lessons. A few of us felt distinctly picked on, and the lessons were very dull (if efficient).
oh my god so boring! good teacher tho, knows what hes doing.
Great Mathematician but terrible humour. Should try to reduce the maths related gags cos some of them are tragic.
was my form tutor for 4 years, also taught my bro and my dad which was cool. was always there when you needed him and i've never seen him raise his voice!
Knows his stuff (unlike some...) so you can learn a lot-if you stay awake
