A Brilliant Teacher though tends to go off on a tangent and you don't want to be on his bad side.

Almost fanatical devotion to the school for over 30 years proves this guy was born to teach. Makes A level easy for most, and tries to help those worse off. In lower school he was a good head of section who always looked into bullying, and didnt tolerate people going too far. Real asset to the school- lets hope he never retires

He taught me back in the early 70's - sounds like things haven't changed! A really great guy, and one who actually cares. A memorable teacher for me even after over 30 years. I can still remember many, many chemistry-related facts from his classes.

Incredibly knowledgeable man. Turns lessons into an incredibly long story, only getting to the point in that last five minutes, but he somehow manages to teach the entire course and more. Notorious for keeping you into lunch/break just to finish the lesson. Don't get on his bad side, he has a wicked temper, but if you treat him with respect he'll pay you the same courtesy. If you do pay attention in his lessons you learn not only the course, but also a way of thinking that you can apply to any uni course.

Amazing man with an unbelievable understanding of his students to the extent that he can tease answers out of people that they didn't know they had. Awesome chemistry teacher and a vault of other random knowledge that is usually, no matter how obscurly, relavant to the matter at hand.

always on about his past and what his old teachers used to to do back in the 1840s in Plymouth. Generally a good toryteller should get a guitar anfd learn to play it so we canhere some good old folk songs.

Good to see nothing changes. I am an AGS old boy and our favourite chemistry past time was seeing how long we could make his stories last by prompting him further! Great bloke though as I remember.

Living Oracle to his own life, and seems to adore telling weird and wonderful stories, noone knows why. However, he has a great knowledge of chemistry and having done his version of the A-level course, you'll know things oxfrod undergrads don't!

in assembley he always has to add 'his bit', which is exactly what the person who gave assembley said but including 20 minutes about his daughters in russia. knows his stuff but is extremely boring.

A fine man and an excellent teacher, the 1975 and o-levels bit rings true, but in my case it was 1975......ask him about his model railway.

What a great teacher! A little old school, but always keeps a class enthralled! Perhaps a little keen on his cats though! "Yes you can eat a human, its only the same as eating a cat or a horse!" Cool.
