A true inspiration, the greatest teacher I have ever had.
Amazing man who inspired me to read history at Uni.
He was always up for a laugh, but always had to keep it on the down-low because of his position. He could be infectiously enthusiastic about any to
I left the school 18 years ago and the comments here were as valid then.
Absolute legend. He loved having a laugh, although he couldn't be seen doing it. Found amusement in every prank played, every comment made, but had to be strict because it was his job. You could just tell he was a trouble maker at school.
Certainly one of the best teachers in a set accurately rated by Ofsted as "Generally good and at its best, excellent." His A-level history lessons are wonderfully alive, making them both entertaining and memorable. Admittedly, he seems to be blighted by persistent, inexplcable tardiness... but no one's perfect.
Arguably a very good teacher, but can often be very late for lessons (due to his head of sixth form status). I definitely feel comfortable with him as my history teacher. However, he must receive an 'uncool' rating for his being head of sixth form, forcing people to remove any kind of individuality and fall into a strict set of codes and rules, like a manufactured robot.
I've just started having him for History in Yr 9, but he seems a very good teacher. He knows a lot about his subject, keeps the class firmly under control without going over the top and starts excellent class discussions.
Seemed like a good person to know. However, I spent most of my days trying to avoid him so I could keep my piercings in. Well now I've left, I can wear them every day. haha, who has the last laugh now!
Owing to his postion of Head of Sixth Form Mr Holt tends to disappear for 20 minutes at a time, but still manages to cover the syllabus with weeks to spare. Has a genuinely interesting style of teaching, repects his students and handles 250 17 and 18 year olds with bizarre ease.
Top bloke is Mr Holt, really knows his stuff in the classroom and out of it is just quality. Really helped me out outside of the classroom, even had time to listen and help even after i left the school for which i'm extremey grateful
Such a fantastic head of 6th form. V. witty and a great guy; not too shabby on the table football either. And hes a proper laugh in lessons as well.
