I didn't find him terribly useful for GCSE Design, but I had a couple of guitar lessons with him after school, and they were really good - overall I think he's probably a good teacher, but GCSE is not his strong suit.
Did no work in GCSE Electronics until the last week of coursework. Got an A*. Bit of a legend... if he likes you.
He's an awesome teacher. If you can't be bothered to work and think tech is a dos subject, you're an idiot. Electronics is one of the more challenging subjects and definately not a place to piss around, if you muck about he'll hate you and I know I would be the same. He's nice to me and other people who actually pay attention to him and the rest of you need to learn some respect. He is not a pushover.
Contrary to what most of you seem to think, playing his electric guitar in his lessons does not make him cool, nor a good teacher. He is VERY bitter, and arguementative, and often criticises with no suggestions for improvement. Yeah he makes sure you have finished the work, but he's not very tolerant or helpful.
Very annoying in a lot of senses, and very rude. He can turn the lesson from a really fun, vibrant lesson into one of the most boring, unenjoyable lessons in a matter of moments - even though his "okay, yeh, yeh okay, uh huh, mmmh, yeh , OKAY CAN YOU JUST STOP!" is quite enjoyable to experience.
Had him as a form tutor and GCSE DT, good teacher, you may not notice it whilst he is teaching you but it really is up to you to get the work done and have a high level of self motivation, her is always there to help and yes he can be a bit moody some times but isn't everybody, especially people who are too lazy to work the problem out for themselves. I enjoyed all my lessons with me and he was always a good laugh whilst keeping us in check.
I agree, he's very bitter, and can just be plain grumpy and obtuse at times. I get the feeling he hates teaching.
Astonishingly good at electric guitar, worships Steve Vai and vodka. Can make any substance in the world conduct electricity and be a working component of an electrical circuit. Adopts an "insert name here" approach to profiles for lower years. Highly amusing.
his unique attitude of 'la la la im not listening' towards taking 'direct' methods in coursework is great entertainment.
Played electric guitar in tech lab at lunch 2day. 'Nuff said
Best teacher I've ever had. Very relaxed in lessons but still end up knowing the stuff!
Legend. Managed to produce no work every saturday morning for an entire year. Great!
Very good tech teacher, and likes to have a laugh as well.
