Was thinking about Gerry today. Dropped politics after A-level, but the stuff I learned in his classes still sticks around after 12 years. One of the best teachers I ever had.

Funny that he became a "Liberal" councillor (later "Liberal Democrat") as he was among the most illiberal of the teachers there. Not a nice person.

An effective teacher who got to the essence of things but ... very personally unpleasant at times and late for almost every single lesson (yes, literally!)
Mr Keating was always my Running Master. His enthusiasm and will to win was always apparent. Our victory at the Coventry Relays (unofficial national championships) was one of my RGS highlights.
brilliant man, honourable, honest and he really cared about the school. i wish we all hadnt taken the michael out of him so much.
By far the most inspirational teacher I had during my time at RGS.
