I could go to him or mr Lawson with anything and he would help me out
One of the best teachers I had at CRGS, absolute legend!
Mr Cawley was my Form Tutor for 4 years and taught me Physics for 1 year. I must admit I was slightly scared of him because he put on a bit of a 'hard man' act, but it was all in good humour. He was a decent teacher and could be funny at times and I think that he actually really cared about his students - he enquired about me on a few occasions to check that I was doing ok. I think that he was generally quite popular among most pupils.
His teaching is relaxed and informal, but the students' respect for him means that his classes do not need controlling. He brings out the best from his students year after year after year. Appears to suffer from a phobia of pure maths, and detailed calculations usually contain a couple of minor numerical errors, but this doesn't detract from his overall teaching ability of Physics. If there is one teacher that deserves an 'uber-cool' rating, it is him. All in all, legendary.
Mr Cawley, he slammed metre long rulers on desks, talked about people who lived in treacle mines + pretended to be batman on Commemoration day to his son who walked past he was a great teacher!
