Not enough teachers like this. Old fashioned in many ways but highly effective. Think of Severus Snape. Firm, cold and controlled. But truly a great man.
The most amazing man. Best teacher I ever had and I miss you dearly
Cold as ice. The one and only.
Incredible teacher. Prime example of what a teacher should be like. Clearly passionate about his subject with outstanding knowledge and very helpful guidance. You won't get much better.
If you like your teachers to be warm and fuzzy then look elsewhere. Impenetrable is one word to describe his style but he IS highly effective at getting students to score A grades. He is also respected by his students. An advocate of short utterances at Parents' Evenings (while gazing in bored/inscrutable manner over your head) and long essays for prep.
Had him for 3 years.
A harsh but fair man. V good and will get you through the exam no problem.
The most knowledgeable individual that I have ever met. He is truly respected by every one of his pupils and it just takes one look at his results to see how great of a teach he is (83.3% A*-A in class one and 76% A*-A in class 2 in GCSE 2015)
Unfortunately I only had the pleasure of being taught by Mr Cope for several lessons however Mr Cope is known for taking students far beyond what they thought they could do. Mixed reviews are due to a particularly dry sense of humor however working hard is always rewarded! Highly recommend!
He isn't always easy going, but for a teacher of his calibre, he doesn't need to be. Old-fashioned in some ways, it's unsurprising that he has a sword locked inside his cupboard. He is the most knowledgeable teacher, most knowledgeable person perhaps, that I will ever meet. His constant desire to better his pupils who are already the best under him, his policy of 'there is always a universe for improvement', alongside his excellence, makes him the very best teacher to have ever walked the Earth.
This guy is the man. Although some people cant handle his dry humour its appreciated by most. Once you 'get' him he will be your favourite teacher by far. Honestly cant fault the man, made dry subjects interesting and would always be willing to help if you are struggling.
Mr Cope is truly sensational, his teaching methods are unbeatable, his vast mind emits profound knowledge and his witty dry humour is second too none. Merely his presence transmits a aura of authority over the students near by. I can sincerely exclaim that Sir has had an highly positive impact on not only my aspect on history but on the fundamental development of knowledge itself. Although usually hard to believe, this man is fact not fiction.
Mixed views. Can be good, can be indifferent. Bit strange at times. Bit intimidating too.
I have not found History to be inspiring under Mr. Cope's teaching. Mr. Cope does not attend parent evenings at Wymondham College and he is not available to communicate with via email. I have two students who are Gifted & Talented in History and other subjects; Mr. Cope is teaching both this year and is unsupportive, unwilling to listen, and uninspiring. Extra G&T homework submitted to Mr. Cope to go to the G&T coordinator and has been misplaced, not passed forward, & unavailable upon request
An amazing History teacher, one of the reasons I chose History over Geography. Mr Cope is like the Lord Sugar of History. You get the best results. Because you have the best teacher. Perhaps the most knowledgeable teacher I have come across.
I am quite lazy but quite bright. I f all my teachers were like mr cope I would be happy in life. Never reached my potential without Mr Cope. love Benedict Robertson-Young!!
he is a great teacher my son hated history now he loves it
I'm a huge fan. One of the very best teachers I ever had... even if he did once call me a goldfish ;)
Mr. Cope is an absolute legend, I did well in History because of him. Eggybread
I am a past pupil - left about 10 years ago and was in Mr Cope's tutorgroup too! He is scarey but he is also an EXCELLENT teacher - you need to listen to him!
